

Lake Victoria Ports
The major ports in Lake Victoria are the Mwanza South Port and Mwanza North Port. Both Ports are connected to road and railway in the country and neighboring countries and have many facilities including Weighbridge, Oil tanks, Workshops and Passenger Lounge to support various operations within the Lake. Apart from these Two Main ports, the Lake has got many other Ports which work together to facilitate different services within Lake Victoria.

Tanga and Other Northern Sea Ports
The Port of Tanga was built in 1914 initially to serve the commercial and agricultural needs of northern Tanzania, it is the longest-serving port in East Africa. A 354-km highway links it to its sister port Dar es Salaam in the South. Tanga port is situated on the northern coast of Tanzania.

Dar es Salaam and Central Coast Sea Ports
Dar es Salaam port is the Tanzania principal port with a rated capacity of 14.1 million (MT) dry cargo and 6.0 million (MT) bulk liquid cargo. The Port has a total quay length of about 2,600 metres with eleven deep-water berths. Dar es Salaam port handles about 95% of the Tanzania international trade. The port serves the landlocked countries of Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Malawi, Uganda and Zimbabwe. The port is strategically placed to serve as a convenient freight linkage not only to and from East and Central Africa countries but also to middle and Far East, Europe, Australia and America.
